Chiropractic St Petersburg is the new satellite campus in Florida for the National University of Health Sciences.
Graduate students can now enroll for the same Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine degree that is offered at the Lombard, Illinois campus.
In an innovative new program, 16 colleges partner together at St. Petersburg College in an alliance enabling students to enter the post graduate instruction of chiropractic medicine in a multidisciplinary campus.
The campus is located not far from Tampa.
Chiropractic St Petersburg enables students who wish to visit one of the few programs that first requires a bachelor's degree in order to qualify, but is closer to home. Chicago is obviously distant.
Students who have first completed a degree program tend to be more focused and mature; there is far less uncertainty about what they wish to spend their lives doing.
Twenty students will be admitted three times a year into the ten trimester program lasting five years; those wishing to can accelerate their studies by not taking a summer vacation and instead completing three semesters per year.
Students will work together with students from other paramedic courses such as emergency medical services, nursing and medical assistant programs.
With over a century of excellence in preparing outstanding chiropractic physicians, National, as it is affectionately known, formerly the National College of Chiropractic, has the tradition, the experience and the faculty to offer a new degree program of the highest calibre in Florida.
Whilst students will attend the St. Petersburg campus they will in effect be graduates of the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois, and study the same program as their colleagues in the north.
Campus visit days, and student for a day programs are held on a regular basis; more details can be found at Visit us Florida, the chiropractic medicine site of NUHS.
Individual visits can also be arranged by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
The terms 'Chiropractic Medicine' and 'Chiropractic Physician' reflect a new mood in the profession to move out of the Complementary and Alternative camp into mainstream healthcare.
This remains controversial in the profession that chiropractic will be swallowed up by medicine and lose its unique nature.
